Something seems unnatural about a 6-7 page syllabus- I get that UNM is really into these longer syllabi I just never had a syllabus longer than 3 pages back in my day..

I’ve never seen a syllabus that short, as an ungrad, grad, or prof. I try to keep mine to 5-6 pages. 10 is excessive.
I try to keep mine short too, but it seems like every year brings new required copy-paste verbiage to be added. Much of it is important, although I find I can't help but wonder if the course syllabus is where it belongs as opposed to general statements of university policy.
