There is a whole lot of 'home by Christmas' sort of thinking coming from the very most foolish corners of the ideological spectrum. But it wouldn't be the first time people let that kind of rhetoric and a healthy dose of stupidity back them into a catastrophic course of action.
For my part, even a brief inventory of countries which have undergone serious civil violence in the last few decades suggests that such a conflict in the USA would be absolutely ruinous for everyone. Modern warfare is crazy destructive, be it conventional or COIN.
And at least the CSA actually DID hold, say, geographic advantages in things like ports.

That's what honestly scares me the most, despite all historical evidence to the contrary both sides are convinced that a potential civil war would be a quick win because of A. We have all the guns or B. We have all the money

We’re obviously not close to an outbreak of sustained conflict imo but like, equally obviously “talk of starting a civil war” is one of the things that does traditionally precede a civil war
The model for civil war 2021 though isn't the US Civil War, but rather Bosnia in the 1990s.
