Ah, revenge is sweet - having been summoned for jury duty three times (though never actually empaneled on a jury), it is now my wife's turn. Obligatory jury-duty-is-an-important-citizen-duty-etc-etc here.

My jury duty experiences: 1) In Mass. as an undergrad; no full-time-student exception but they ended up not needing to empanel a jury that day. 2) In Florida as an MA student. I remember requesting and getting an exemption, but I don't recall the grounds.

3) in North Carolina as an adjunct. Ironically, NC has a full-time-student exemption, but wasn't a student anymore. Requested and got a deferral so it didn't blow an on-campus interview, then got a new date. Showed up; only a grand jury was being empaneled and I wasn't picked.
