"Why is everybody watching the Sopranos" represents a quiet coup for HBO, which as recently as like six years ago had real concerns that their back catalog effectively didn't exist to Zoomers because it wasn't on Netflix
On the other hand, if you have to be The Sopranos level of notable to get that response...a lot of the back catalog may struggle. What else was that well received? It's not a zero list (The Wire, clearly) but how much else?

I think the mark of success is that HBO in general is fully integrated into the streaming ecosystem, not necessarily that their older shows are still getting play. There was a real risk of them getting left out of that if they hadn't opened the service up to non-cable subs

"Band of Brothers" probably is evergreen, less so "The Pacific." "Deadwood" received this treatment before "Sopranos," so presumably that movie drew enough new eyes to the old episodes to repeat the marketing tactic here?
