Talking the Mongols in my warfare survey today. Gonna play the students in with the Hu. Because of course I am. What song should I use? Leaning towards The Great Chinggis Khaan for obvious reasons.

Honestly, part of why I want to play in with The Hu. "Look, they too have great music!" as a way to begin by affirming the fundamental humanity of Mongolians. This is a lecture about people, not orcs.

Thing about "Yuve Yuve Yu" is that the long intro, while conceptually key, doesn't immediately grab an audience. Whereas "The Great Chinggis Khaan" is cool, it's saying "Look! This historical figure is still part of living culture!"
