I'm still trying to stay in academia because I like teaching at the college level...but at this point I think if I got a job offer that included a demand that I scrap the blog and thus become entirely dependent on the academic job market again...f*** no to that.

Alternately, if I didn't find in-person, face-to-face teaching so rewarding...I'd already be gone. Way gone. I'm actually working on a blog post on this but basically I'd recommend PhD studies in history to...basically no one?
