Still nice to see that without a mega-hit, the reach of the blog is still growing...since, if you're going to do public engagement, you've got to engage the public.
FWIW, the most popular things on the blog in order (by most read post in the series): Siege of Gondor AC:Valhalla Sparta Fremen Mirage Helm's Deep Bread, How Did They Make it? How It Wasn't:GoT and the Middle Ages Iron, How Did They Make It? Teaching Paradox: EU4
Surprised, but quite happy by how high the Bread-and-Farming series is, as well as Sparta, both of which are very nearly pure history with very little pop-culture. Though I think probably Siege of Gondor + Helm's Deep together is, in my view, the best thing on the blog.
I have a real soft-spot for the essays on Cicero, Dhuoda, Thucydides, Bertran de Born and Antarah Ibn Shaddad (the 'Trip Through' text-analysis posts) but they are a lot less popular. I'm still quite proud of them though.

Read the Helms Deep one after it was featured in the Times. From there have gone into Gondor, GoT and everything else!
I'm considering* having stickers made with a bar code encoding the URL of the first Sparta post, and then carrying them around with me and sticking them next to any Spartan-tuff-guy car decals I come across *OK, I'm not, but it'd be fun
