Still nice to see that without a mega-hit, the reach of the blog is still growing...since, if you're going to do public engagement, you've got to engage the public.

Huh, sometime in the past week, ACOUP's 2021 view count passed its 2020 views, though 2021 hasn't had anything as popular as "Assassin's Creed: Valhalla and the Unfortunate Implications" (though the march of time has caused Siege of Gondor: Part I to retake the top view spot).

Surprised, but quite happy by how high the Bread-and-Farming series is, as well as Sparta, both of which are very nearly pure history with very little pop-culture. Though I think probably Siege of Gondor + Helm's Deep together is, in my view, the best thing on the blog.

I have a real soft-spot for the essays on Cicero, Dhuoda, Thucydides, Bertran de Born and Antarah Ibn Shaddad (the 'Trip Through' text-analysis posts) but they are a lot less popular. I'm still quite proud of them though.

Yes, they've both done quite well. Early yet - reads on these things accumulate slowly over time. The Ac:Valhalla was unusual - it got a huge burst of readers.

I found your blog through the Sparta series. I also really enjoyed “The Queen’s Latin who were the Romans?” I guess I tend to prefer the pure history stuff having a BA in History, I never really put to any use outside of following my personal interests.
