Yes. Connolly's book is a little long in the tooth now (1981) but still a solid guide to military equipment. The illustrations are careful and top notch.

The only weakness is a lack of notes or, of course, an up to date bibliography. But for that, the less lavishly illustrated Bishop & Coulston Roman military equipment (2006) will serve w/ distinction.
