Some interesting archery demonstrates from Tod's Workshop (https://youtu.be/Avz1O27Dz50 ). I don't know what the draw weight on these bows are, but I'm struck towards the end that at anything but close range, it seems like you'd absolutely have time to raise a shield in response...

They did (I forget which piece). But I protest that larping arrows are nowhere near as fast. However Bhutanese archers "safely" stand next to their opponent's (quite small) target at 145m and talk trash.

Hmm, okay they are slower in m/s but since larp archers tend to shoot from really close the actual time you have to react is, imo, pretty similar. Though that might be its own factor, since you can easily judge when an archer is going to loose if they're only standing 15m away.
