I don't want to downplay the experiences of any women who have been made to feel uncomfortable in military history, but I do want to raise my voice to say there is absolutely a place for women discussing *all* aspects of milhist in our field.
And while there is still a long way to go, the field isn't quite so male-dominated as it once was - there are many women doing path-breaking milhist work; you've got women teaching at the war colleges, like @notabattlechick or @mewalters101 , women working on ancient warfare...
...like @PenarthKate or Jessica Clark (over at FSU; I don't think she's on twitter) or @WingedBookWyrm .
