As a fellow academic (aerospace), I'd be interested in all three, particularly (1) and (2). The job market has gotten pretty tight in STEM; I'd be curious to hear more about what it is like in the humanities.

If you want a return to pop history/fantasy stuff, might I suggest warrior women? As I understand it they...existed in certain times and places as institutions but a survey would be interesting.

Yeah, this is something on my to-do list, but I'd need to read up on it a bit before writing, since my specialty is in a society (Rome) which had basically zero tradition of women on the battlefield. Still, very much on the to-do list.
