To be fair, there was very much an overarching strategic theory. Annihilate all competitors immediately, at the outset, decisively, with no delay whatsoever and zero room for error or be literally wiped off the map completely and irrevocably forever.
Who needs strategy if you just assume complete and unmitigated operational success at all stages!
