Doing anything that would actually help would require expending more blood and treasure than what we were using to hold the uneasy stalemate back in 2018/2019. I'm not sure the Biden administration is willing to make such an obvious admission of how badly they f***ed this up.
My guess is they'll secure our own troop's exit and then let the Taliban murder everyone else and rely on the fact that voters largely won't care about the humanitarian catastrophe their indifference caused.
