Yes, they really nail the daily life aspects in the show. When we see life in Vorenus’ insula, it’s [chef’s kiss]. Especially nice is the way that we see it become a kind of domus as he gets richer and (I assume) buys out the other tenants
Fantastic show. Takes some liberties with the history, of course, but actually makes a solid effort to get the appearance of a Roman street - the buildings, walkways, etc. - right. Also some lovely bits of Roman religion…not necessarily Atia’s gory sacrifices, but especially Pullo’s prayers/contracting sessions with his various gods… half of it seems straight out of some of these lead sheets they dig up sometimes
