This week on the blog: I answer questions from my patrons: what the Romans thought of the fall of the republic, how did medieval living standards compare to ancient ones, how I got into history and also how a modern army might fare in a zombie apocalypse!https://acoup.blog/2021/08/06/referenda-ad-senatum-august-6-2021-feelings-at-the-fall-of-the-republic-ancient-and-medieval-living-standards-and-zombies/ …
In a conventional fight, maybe? The thing is, asymmetric warfare immediately limits firepower. The big problem for zombies (and I suppose literal robots) is that they can't hide in a larger population effectively (except the iZombie zombies, I guess).

Yeah, the actual larger war is a whole other question. Perfectly-disciplined human-looking robots would be kind of a terrifying asymmetric force. (Pity the poor Blade Runners.)

But it's interesting that if you'd had an army that would keep plowing forward regardless of casualties, up to a certain point in history you'd have been essentially unstoppable. But at some point firepower would tip the balance.
