Love the zombie bit. It's related to a question that has always interested me -- at what point in history would an army of human-robots -- not be enough to push at attack home? (By this I mean -- an army with human capabilities, weapons and tactics but robotically determined.)

Or, as you mention -- where is that transition where no amount of elan is enough, where even with perfect bravery the defenders can physically kill everyone? I feel like it has to be by at least WWI, right?
