Right. Certainly javelins of some sort, but certainly not pila, and we wouldn't expect the hasta velitaris so late. Could be soliferrea or perhaps some frozen iconographic reference where this figure has always been supposed to hold a pair of javelins.

Galba was the legate in Spain before moving against Nero, so it might make sense for his coinage to feature a distinctively Spanish weapon. The solifferreum was pretty distinctive and the shape on the coin, if a bit exaggerated, seems about right?

Oh, I'm a dummy for not reading the text on the coin. Yes, clearly a reference to Spain, LOL! So yeah, my money is that they're a pair of soliferrea, picked for being distinctively 'Spanish' weapons.
