The problem I have with First Contact is that it is the clearest opportunity to do TNG's Wrath of Khan story, but 1) they did it only OK and 2) they had to memory-hole TNG's "Family" to do it.
It also marks the beginning of the slide of the Borg as an actually interesting antagonist, heralding their transformation into a fairly boring space-opera villain to be completed in Voyager.
