First Contact is absolutely the best and most entertaining of the movies but I think it might also be the most damaging to the series' legacy so it's really a toss-up for me
The problem I have with First Contact is that it is the clearest opportunity to do TNG's Wrath of Khan story, but 1) they did it only OK and 2) they had to memory-hole TNG's "Family" to do it.

Yes, this is what I was saying. Not just "Family" (already rather ruined in Generations, incidentally) but multiple late-series episodes ("I, Borg" and onward) which establish pretty conclusively that Picard has *not* been turned into a genocidal psychopath by his trauma.
