You'll all have to pardon me for being political for a moment but... It is not legal to storm the capitol and should someone have (lethal) force used upon them while in the commission of that crime they are not a hero, but rather a criminal who f***ed around and found out.

I've been seeing this push to get 'justice' for the insurrectionist who was shot. I'm sorry, but, 'justice' - defined by our laws - is what she got in that hallway. Justice is a cold thing; perhaps you were thinking of mercy? That's a different creature and not always on offer.

Don't get me wrong - I'm sad at every death and injury that occurred as a result of the capitol insurrection, even the insurrectionists. But if you violently storm the capitol with the intent to attack congress, 'getting shot' is a foreseeable *and lawful* outcome.

many other victims of police shootings were in violation of the law, that is not and should not be the only consideration. Babbitt received no warning and was not posing an imminent threat

She was breaching a door which had been closed and then barricaded with furniture, while law enforcement officers demanded she stop, after she had already stormed the building.

As the recent NYTimes video reconstruction notes, members of the House of Representatives were still in that hallway and of course officers there had no way of knowing if any of the insurrectionists were armed.
