what's the first recorded instance of somebody complaining about details of their life being borrowed for somebody else's fiction?
In Plato's Apology, as I recall, Socrates complains about how his fictionalized appearance in Aristophanes' The Clouds has damaged his reputation. Though I don't know if that counts, given that the character is named Socrates.
