All the more reason I need to actually go and buy that full late second century Rome military kit. To be fair, I'd bet teaching in mail armor would be a huge hit with students.

It'll depend on how good quality you're going for. I've bought a couple of mail hauberks for LARP, one costing c. £100 and the other around £160, but (because it's for a fantasy setting) I didn't have to worry about authenticity. You'd be amazed at what you can find on Ebay!
