How would you assess the contention that the institutional trajectory of JSOC over the past several decades has had troublingly close historical parallels to the development of the praetorian guard?
Parallels exist and are troubling but also extend more broadly to the AVF and from there into law enforcement. I have a bit on this forthcoming at The National Interest.
