Is there tension? All of the philosophers I know have been perfectly pleasant, though I suppose I don't do the history of philosophy, so perhaps that has something to do with it.

Totally off on a tangent here: If the Romans didn't call it "lorica segmentata" what -did- they call it and why do you think it disappeared? The plates required better ironworking but mail is labor -intensive.- Was it a decline in industrial capacity, lesser efficacy, some combo?
