Whenever I press people who say this, the only thing they can come up with is the casino sequence, which literally ties all the concepts together. So I really don't understand this critique. What's your beef

I can sense this getting testy, which I want to avoid, but I “big fantasy space ships that already don’t follow normal physics must be attacked by small fantasy space ships in a specific sequence” is something that I have zero interest in

I think the bigger-picture point is that these details should be *consistent* within the space of a single franchise, changing the basic worldbuilding mechanics from film to film breaks any sense of immersion and makes every storytelling conclusion feel artificial and forced

lol, no thank you, i’m ok. :) i‘ve worked in “the genre” as you call it, for years and i’ve heard all these critiques before. i think we just fundamentally disagree on what worldbuilding is and what makes it work or not work!

My big complaint is: why on earth didn't Leia do the suicide run?! They introduce this strong new leader using a big-name actress, then kill her off so hastily -- producing the awkwardness of CGI Leia in the final one. So dumb.
