Ok, #twitterstorians, question! What would you recommend, textbook-wise, for an enthusiast looking to do some history (but not grad school) to provide some foundation in historical theory and methods?

So your audience is "intellectual" (read likes to play with ideas) but non-academic? And looking for pure theory/methodology? Or "in-context" theory/methodology? And if a specific context, any specific "domain" of history? h/t:
