So we are all clear - it is the job of political scientists to generate broad generalizing theories and it is the job of historians to cry foul and that is a useful relationship.

Political scientists have been bashing Huntington for being slipshod and overgeneralizing and not rigorious with data for *years*. How is this bashing the discipline vs bashing a sixty-five year old book?
