I paid my full rent for an apartment complex that, for several months, limited non-essential maintenance because of COVID concerns. I paid full price on groceries in stores where options were sometimes limited and there were inconvenient additional COVID precautions.
We all did these things, in every sector of the economy. Pandemics raise costs and lower deliverables (shock!!). I cannot, for the life of me understand why everyone expects college to be different. Would you rather have paid $55,000 to catch COVID in week 4?
I had students who caught COVID. It was not great for their learning experiences! It caused them a lot of stress and missed classes. What is your real, actually implementable option, Bloomberg? Budget cuts at universities? Because *we're doing that* you daft fools.

But this reflexive need to whine about higher education that Bloomberg so consistently engages in, regardless of if it makes a single lick of sense is pathetic and stupid (a word frequent readers will note I do not use often, but I think it is called for here).

I am 110% on the 'normalize therapy for people' bandwagon. It is a thing that is totally helpful for people, even those who do not feel like they are in crisis.
I find that whole thread indicative of someone who doesn't understand what you're really paying for.
