Could be websearch robots (a la Google) indexing your site. Your webserver logs could tell you but a counter won't.
Maybe! I should hide a dummy PDF link on some other page and see if it gets the same downloads.
Still, I can't imagine my about page is getting indexed 3-6 times a day? 
Looking at my access_log, I think 4-5 bots were running through my website today. They're not labeled, I just see the same IP addresses on multiple random files. At least 2 IPs on every file checked, 2-3 more that are more intermittent but still suspiciously thorough.
So it IS weird that I visit your About page 2-5 times a day. I thought it might be, but it’s good to finally know for sure.
