So, I have my CV uploaded on my 'about' page on my blog (it's always out of date, I always forget to upload the newest version)..and I just realized I can check how often it gets downloaded and it's like 20-30 times in an average week and that's kind of terrifying.

Could be websearch robots (a la Google) indexing your site. Your webserver logs could tell you but a counter won't.
-
Maybe! I should hide a dummy PDF link on some other page and see if it gets the same downloads. Still, I can't imagine my about page is getting indexed 3-6 times a day?

It’s entirely possible it’s just internet crawlers gathering content for various services or archival purposes. I have a domain with a one page website that literally is not linked to from anywhere and it gets probably 20-30 visits per day from bots/crawlers

All the above said, if you don't want people to read it, why did you put it on your blog page? Just curious. :-)

for some people(fans/readers of your blog), who don’t know of google scholar, it’s great way to get a record of all your publications in one place, so they can follow up and read your stuff. I do this with syllabuses. If I’m interested in a subject, I download and go over them.

Might read it just to figure out what the hell a CV is.

CVs are always exciting! It's the person putting their best foot forward, and that means something totally different to everybody, in the smallest of details!

As long as it's actual curious weirdos and not, say, identity thieves or trolls happy to have gained access to your name, contact info, lots of personal data, and face-photo all in one convenient location.
-
That's unavoidable, I'm afraid. Every university I've worked at expects faculty to have their CVs on the department webpage. So it's a document that was always going to be public
