there has got to be some interesting cultural analysis to be done (by someone else) on the role of 70s and 80s classic rock in the Trump phenomenon. It's all you ever hear at these things. What does it symbolize now?

I think it's more for the idea that back then you could do more of what you wanted without scolds and regulations. For example, I watched this HBO doc called Action Park about an insane water park in the 80s where you could do pretty much/

whatever you wanted. A few people died, but most people recalled it fondly, saying wistfully that "you could never do that crazy sh-- today" in our litigious, regulated world. It wasn't a Trump crowd, but it seemed to capture resentment at "wimpification."
