LOL at the commenter complaining on my EU4 post that I'm just a woke-scold making everything 'problematic' in an essay where I literally stop to say, "EU4 history is the story of states. Now this isn’t an invalid way of teaching history, to be clear!"

Can't decide if I'm more excited about the Teaching Paradox serieses about Paradox games I'm familiar with or ones I've barely tried.

If there is something I learned is that some popular history fans treat history just like that - a fandom. Had similar experiences with Sabaton fans.

Why stop to examine the text when you can oversimplify it to fit within your preferred intellectual framework? ...which I believe is essentially what that commenter is accusing you of, come to think of it.
