I would swear there is another tomb painting where they do this - just have the sarisa soar out of frame - but I cannot for the life of me remember where it is and I am too lazy to pile through my notes to check.

Yes, this is the one I was thinking of and couldn't remember. I've never seen such a high quality picture - the one I had was black and white and rubbish. Still no metal connecting tubes!
