every argument in favor of letting China conquer Taiwan is also an argument for letting Britain reconquer Ireland. it's just if the British were to threaten that we would recognize it as psychotically unacceptable.

I would rather uphold Stalin's efforts at keeping the USSR intact than promote Denmark, a country that enthusiastically partakes in NATO brinkmanship, bullying and US imperialism. The fact that they have a social safety net does not absolve them of all moral culpability.

Furthermore, how can Denmark be viable model for non-capitalists when it can only exist under the protective umbrella of US military hegemony that ensures it has its colonialist share of underpaid resources extracted across the "developing world"? This is shortsighted.

Murder is not the appeal. The appeal is building a viable alternatives to global capitalism. The USSR was one such attempt. China today is an ongoing experiment in that direction. It is sad but inevitable fact that replacing the current scheme of things will entail violence.

Much like the first attempts at liberal democratic republics could not have occurred without violence against monarchists. It's not something to be celebrated but it needs to be acknowledged ESPECIALLY in the cozy, pacifying belly of modern capitalist consumerism.
