Heavens. I had hoped the dip on the 26th might have meant the numbers could plateau.
The worst thing is, not only are the death numbers likely an undercount, they also lag. 3.5k deaths reflect the case count two weeks ago, when it was +233k per day.

Here in UK (and US) deaths/million are far, far worse. But here I don’t know anyone who died whereas almost all my Indian colleagues (we have offices there) do, often family. So I wonder about the numbers. My hope is that the lack of hospital care makes it look worse than it is.

I doubt we will know the true size of the pandemic until the dissertations get written using excess mortality statistics, probably in a couple of years.
