One real advantage of building up a blog full of historical essays is often I can shortcut key concepts by linking to another post where I defined them. As in "Oh shoot, I need to explain what defines a state - oh, no I don't because I already did: https://acoup.blog/2020/01/17/collections-the-fremen-mirage-part-i-war-at-the-dawn-of-civilization/ … "

At least, that's how I hope it works. I mean, I'm going to break 3 million page views sometime this week, so probably I guess it's working? (I still don't have a real sense of what is a 'lot' of views...)

Personally I really like it. It gave me a nice broad series to read when I discovered your blog last summer. I really enjoyed reading the linked articles too, gave me loads of new perspectives all in all.

Plus, it really draws in new readers. "Oh, that's an interesting concept, I should really read that other post! Wait, it's a series? And I should read this next series too, just for additional background..." Kind of like a Netflix effect, but educational?
