Speaking of my own field, I am endlessly struck by how we do not - to my knowledge - know the name of a single helot (the class of enslaved agricultural laborers who made of the majority population of Sparta). Not that I know of. We do know from literary sources of freed helots referred to as groups (the Neodamodes and the Brasideioi) but I don't believe we know any of their names either.

Presumably any helot who drew enough attention to be named would also have stood a good chance of being killed by the Krypteia. So that story would presumably have a fairly unpleasant ending.
