That's a fair argument to make, though I think given that there seem to have been - going by the pictures - a significant (if not representative) number of women preset on Jan 6th, and obviously there are many women veterans, I still favor the general population comparison.

Ideally, we would want to see veterans mounting lawless assaults on democracy at rates significantly lower than the general population. My own view is that it is precisely because of our polarized politics that we have less room for error in the civ-mil relationship.
