My relevant knowledge is old, but I wouldn't expect the spam to scale quite the same as the real comments do. Like, if you doubled your traffic and real comments, I wouldn't anticipate 900 spam comments. Usually those are being pumped out to a vast list of live & dead sites.
Cleaned the blog's spam folder again. Over the last two weeks, I had 187 real comments, 450 spam comments, and 2 real comments that ended up in the spam folder. I suppose I'd like to get to the point where legitimate comments outnumbered spam, but I'm guessing that's impossible.

I like all of my readers equally, commenters and non-commenters. Although I suppose I am contractually obligated to like my patrons more?

Not to complain excessively, but I've found it difficult to comment on the blog (accounts, etc.). Just too much "friction" (drink!) Although if there's to much friction for this human...how are the bots doing it!???
