Though there is stiff competition, I think Cadorna would be my pick for the most incompetent general of WWI

You know, there is a lot of twitter bagging on bad (mostly ACW?) generals, like @janecoaston about McClellen or @DrRobThompson about <insert confederate general here>.
But I feel like there is not *nearly* enough bagging on Luigi Cadorna, Italian chief of staff (1914-17).

McClellan certainly had his flaws, but criticism of him frequently veers into the worst sort of military historians’ Monday morning quarterbacking.

Yeah, I'm not as full on the McClellan bash-wagon as some, especially when there are much worse ACW generals, like Bragg or Pope or Burnside or Hood.
