So the ad is this video (https://youtu.be/tLgFaJ1QlSM ) and it's all about planning and it's showing big fleets. So for people who aren't familiar, in EVE your single character pilots a single ship. This isn't a strategy game where you command fleets. Usually. 2/12

Thanks to player-owned stations, big battles in lowsec systems (esp. bordering hisec) are much more frequent. For all the years I played EVE, I never participated in a big fleet battle until recently. We were called in to assist a corp in our alliance and boy was that fun.

I played Eve, but in an Empire RP alliance. We never had that large fleet fights, though some did get big, especially the tower things. This was years ago, so I have no idea of the current meta. I think I FC’d a couple of small fleets (5-10 ships) a couple of times. 1/n

It was fun but not really for me. We had a slight problem of getting enough FCs. I think the ads might be the result of the idea of progression in the game, so that huge fleets in 0.0 wars are the endgame. Then they’d advertise that as the goal. 2/n

I think there's something to be said for the experience of being one of the rest of those people, although it's certainly a different experience from being the operational planner.

I'd also argue that this can be done with rather smaller groups than are shown in the video when the vast majority of nullbloc fleets have been crammed into one constellation in Delve, like they are at the moment. f'rex, my alliance:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDXGnnn0LkE …
