With Total War: Rome getting a remaster...I'm going to end up having to do a dive into how much of the material culture of Roman/Hellenistic armies they get wrong, aren't it? (most of it?) I can tell I'm a bit burned out, because I'm more exhausted than excited by the prospect.

I'd be curious to hear your take on Imperator as well.
Actually, a take on a chunk of the Paradox oeuvre in general (EU4, Imperator, and Vicky2 at least, maybe also HoI4 and CK3 again) is on the to-do list. So there's a good chance you'll get me talking Imperator on the blog before too long.

Anything to say about Stellaris? Its kitchen-sink take on history gives it a lot of storytelling advantages, but also distorts society in some non-obvious ways (in addition to the obvious ones!). It's a spectacular game, but it has a sub-GRRM (!!!) view of sentient beings.

It just keeps striking me how incredibly cynical and spectacularly *grimdark* Stellaris' view of society is.
