So, it's official now: rejections from every place I applied for PhD programs.
I'm really glad I went to Classics Social Hour tonight because I'm not sure if I could have mentally handled the news without having had such good company before I saw that email 
I know I'm a rando here, but don't let it get you down. It took me three attempts to find a PhD program - a lot of it comes down to random chance, frankly (esp. with COVID-cuts). So don't be discouraged! It can be done and not everyone gets that perfect fit on the first run.

Thank you! I really appreciate that. I have heard encouraging words from many people who took multiple tries to get in, so it's nice to know I'm not alone. But I did know this cycle was going to be extra difficult, so I'm crossing my fingers for the next one.
