Is it weird for the third year of your PhD to feel like a mess that's pulling you in different directions? I have my dissertation committee locked down and a general outline, but the slew of exams have made me feel like I'm not doing anything productive this year.
Sounds about right, especially with COVID making everything take longer and involve approximately 1547% more emails. The thing that got me through was thinking in terms of 'one foot in front of the other' rather than in terms of 'productivity.' Any progress = is good progress.
