Some cats keep you guessing. My cat Percival walks into the office, with the toy he wants to play with in his mouth, drops it by my chair and then meows. Clever cat.
Also a willful cat. Oliver will plaintively whine half the house away because he wants attention. Percy will just jump into your lap and sit down. If you move him - because, for instance, he is in the way of the keyboard - he just jumps right back up. Cat knows what he wants.
Other episodes in 'Percy is clever' - we have these timed auto-feeders (Percy over-eats if you don't measure out his meals) and Percy has learned to reach up into the chute and try to turn the mechanism manually to jostle free just a little more food.
It is only a manner of time before he discovers the 'manual' button or - worse yet - the release latch on the top that opens the food bin.
