If you want the same but for the Middle Ages, Landers, The Field and the Forge: Population, Production and Power in the Pre-industrial West (2005) pulls together figures from pre-industrial Europe. I do not know of a more global survey of the topic, though it would be handy.
In any event, pay scales tend to be really culturally specific, especially once you get above the regular ranks that might be paid close to the cost of labor in the rest of the economy. Lots of socially-loaded assumptions go in about status, etc.
Maybe one of these days I'll pull together the data I know of and present the variation on the blog.
