...because I don't think Pressfield or (some) other Cult of the Badass types think they are trading in proto-fascist ideology. I don't think they want to do that. They just don't realize. And my normal image expedient of cat pictures seemed a bit too frivolous for the topic.
In any event, I think it stands just fine as a pure essay, so that's how I'm going to leave it, I think. At least for now.
I wonder if other facist governments might make good examples. The Nazis have a lot of intellectual baggage. Franco in Spain, in my understanding, showed how poor a system of government it was until he reformed away from the authoritarian system in the 1950's.
