I assume I'm followed by sword nerds. Do we have any evidence on left-handedness being an advantage in fights?
Well in ancient societies, left-handedness was considered ill-omened, and so probably trained out (with the problems that implies). The situation might be different for medieval societies, but I wouldn't know there.

Any sources for Hoplites and left-handedness? IIRC the formations move right (or left) from sheltering behind neighbor's shields? Also, if shields are super-important, holding a shield in your dominant hand might not be *that* much of a disadvantage?
