One weird fact about Arthurian movie adaptations is there are nowhere near as many good ones as there should be.

Arthurian material is so varied and rich that you could tell all kinds of different stories against that backdrop if we'd established it as a tried and true framework for making good movies, but we really haven't!

Part of the problem is that everyone wants to retell some version of the 'core' Arthurian myth (Le Morte, basically), and so you lose out on the chance for some of the really neat stuff in Chretien, etc.
